I’m probably one of the few that wasn’t exactly impressed my Paris, sure it was beautiful just like any other European city. Honestly I didn’t know what the hype was about, it was never on my bucket list but my husband and I made a last minute decision to go as our friend was there so we thought of paying a short 2 day visit. Hailed as the most romantic city in the world, I found the streets wet and dirty; people not exactly what I would call friendly but hey, it’s still a really charming city to visit.
But what stole my heart was the gardens at Versailles, one which we chose over Musée du Louvre, it was a hard decision but I’m glad we did it. While the Palace itself was magnificent, the oh-so-famous Hall of Mirrors wasn’t the one I fell in love with. It was the gardens.
The splendour and sheer size of the garden is not hard to miss, I could really get lost for a couple of hours only if my feet would co-operate. I just cannot justify how beautiful this place, I think I was in awe for the most of it, except of the parts where my feet refuse to compile.
